About the Opportunity

The Clinical Therapist is a key member of the Adult Service team in Mental Health and Addictions at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. Reporting to the Manager, the Clinical Therapist provides comprehensive assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients. This role involves carrying out general duties of the Adult Service team, participating in quality initiatives, engaging in collaborative person-centred care, and utilizing available information technology to support best practice. The Clinical Therapist receives and provides supervision and mentorship as part of a community of practice, upholding professional and ethical standards, and conveying respect and understanding of diversity and inclusion issues.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Therapist who possesses a Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline, such as social work, psychology, counseling, nursing, or occupational therapy. The ideal candidate will have current registration with the relevant provincial regulatory body and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders. They will also have expertise in providing individual and group evidence-informed therapies, collaborating with families, and crisis intervention and risk assessment. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills, as well as high-level written and oral communication skills, are essential for this role. The ability to work effectively in multiple software applications and take initiative, work independently, and participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team are also required. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline
  • Current registration with relevant provincial regulatory body
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders

What We Offer

Clinical Therapist: $49.05 Hourly
Clinical Therapist (Developmental): $42.01 Hourly
