The Clinical Therapist is a member of the Adult Service team in Mental Health and Addictions. Reporting to the Manager, the Clinical Therapist provides assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients. They carry out general duties of the Adult Service team and participate in quality initiatives, engage in collaborative person-centred care, and utilize available information technology to support best practice.

About You
  • Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline, such as social work, psychology, counseling, nursing, or occupational therapy.
  • Current registration with the relevant provincial regulatory body.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in providing individual and group evidence-informed therapies based on care plans to clients with mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or concurrent disorders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in collaborating with families in relation to sharing information and implementing family-sensitive services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in crisis intervention, suicide, and violence risk assessment/intervention.
  • Non-violent crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment preferred.
  • Demonstrated awareness of community resources and programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • High-level written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with experience in conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work effectively in multiple software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently with limited supervision, and participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, with French preferred.

Two years of related clinical experience, including assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and discharge planning, is required. Candidates with less than two years' experience may be considered for the selection process. If offered employment, they will be placed on the Clinical Therapist (Dev) HTH scale.

Hours
  • Permanent Full Time; 75 Hours Bi-weekly.
Compensation and Incentives

Clinical Therapist: $49.05 Hourly; Clinical Therapist (Developmental): $42.01 Hourly.

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
