Position Overview

The Marketing Specialist, integral to the Canada West Ski Areas Association's sales and marketing team, collaborates closely with fellow coordinators and reports directly to the Sales & Marketing Manager. This role is chiefly accountable for the strategic planning, design, organization, and execution of the association's marketing and communication initiatives, alongside managing the digital footprint (website and social media) of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

– Assist in developing and refining the organization's creative standards, ensuring all subsequent creative outputs align with these standards.

– Generate innovative concepts and ideas to promote various products, experiences, and upcoming events.

– Oversee the design process for digital/social media advertisements, signage, brochures, flyers, product packaging, print advertisements, etc.

– Collaborate with third-party media partners, including purchasing media space and analyzing ad performance.

– Effectively communicate promotions, upcoming events, and conditions through diverse communication channels.

– Enhance and regularly update content on the association's website.

– Utilize tools such as Google Analytics and CRM data to shape and continuously refine marketing campaigns.

– Manage multiple social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube).

– Design, plan, organize, and occasionally participate in regional and national trade show initiatives.

– Coordinate and facilitate familiarization tours in collaboration with external public relations agencies and regional media.

– Develop and implement a season-long influencer/ambassador program in partnership with regional influencers.

Qualifications

– A degree or diploma in marketing or a related field.

– Intermediate skills in photo and video editing (Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, or similar software).

– Previous experience in a marketing and communications role, with preference for candidates with over three years of experience.

– Experience in website design, particularly with WordPress-based sites.

– Knowledgeable in search engine optimization (SEO) techniques.

– Familiarity with Google Analytics.

– Prior experience with email marketing software.

– Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

– Strong creative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

– Capability to work under pressure, manage workload effectively, and meet deadlines.

– Proficient skier or snowboarder with a positive and proactive approach to teamwork.

– Ability to work independently for extended periods.

Work Conditions
