Estimator - Building Materials Specialist

About the Role:
The Pincher Creek Co-op is seeking an experienced Estimator to provide expert advice and consultation to customers on building projects. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for interpreting client input, documentation, and design drawings to determine the costing and selling price associated with building materials and manufactured components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and expertise for in-house project planning and development, including project scope, plans, material/component specifications, and supporting material/component estimates.
- Monitor building material inventory levels, forecast future requirements, and order inventory accordingly.
- Maintain and develop relationships with contractors, architects, engineers, building inspectors, draftsperson/designers, material vendors, trades, and customers.
- Develop new contractor relationships and elevate the Local Co-op's presence in the market.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, or computer-aided drawings and provide customers with estimates outlining overall building material requirements.
- Support the tendering process, providing quantities, costing/pricing, and descriptive information associated with building projects.
- Develop and maintain a Vendor Reference Database to track and specify material-specific information.
- Able to work and perform in a team environment.
Requirements:
- Certificate and/or Diploma with a preference for Building/Architectural Science or Construction Management.
- 3-6 years of relevant and related experience.
- Computer knowledge and skills to develop spreadsheets, documents, and customer files.
- Honest, trustworthy, results-oriented, and strive to be the best in your work.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Decision-making skills in a fast-paced and pressurized work environment.
- Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and business savvy skills.
- Valid Class 5 drivers' license required for traveling across our area.
