Position Overview

Ainsworth is seeking a talented Controls Designer Level 1 to enhance our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in collaborative environments and are eager to develop their careers while contributing to innovative solutions.

Role Summary:

As a Controls Designer Level 1, you will play a crucial role in the deployment, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced commercial building automation systems. A solid understanding of personal computer fundamentals, networking, basic electronic principles, and building electrical and mechanical systems is essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of Building Automation System solutions to our clientele within the Construction and Operations sectors.
  • Participate in site commissioning, conduct point-to-point verifications, troubleshoot issues, and initiate startup procedures for various Building Automation Systems.
  • Acquire and exhibit a comprehensive understanding of ESC Safe Work and Health & Safety Policies.
  • Grasp the basic principles of HVAC system operations in commercial settings.
  • Collaborate with and comprehend HVAC and Digital Control fundamentals.
  • Demonstrate a practical knowledge of BAS Networking and Building System Integration.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Driver's license.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and product documentation.
  • Completion of a Post-Secondary technical or engineering program.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Capable of performing medium physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, and occasionally working at heights.
  • Programming experience is considered an asset.
