Your responsibilities include:

  • Staying informed about updates to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and related regulations, providing recommendations for their effective implementation.
  • Monitoring compliance with the company’s safety protocols.
  • Facilitating safety meetings and ensuring thorough documentation and record-keeping.
  • Offering guidance to regional teams on safety-related regulations and requirements.
  • Coordinating safety inspections and activities across departments.
  • Conducting research on occupational safety to implement the best practices for minimizing workplace hazards.
  • Tracking safety certifications, conducting audits, and reporting findings to management.
  • Drafting various safety-related documents, including policies, procedures, safety communications, and internal memos.

Qualifications for success:

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years in an administrative or coordination role.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a safety-related position is preferred.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to respond effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with corporate departments and staff.
  • Proficiency in the entire MS Office suite.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
