We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support the Integrated Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences (IBEHS) department at McMaster University. This role is essential for enhancing the educational experience of students enrolled in the Statistical Methods in Biomedical Engineering course.
Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position is $28.98.

Course Title: Statistical Methods in Biomedical Engineering
Number of Teaching Assistants Required: 2
Term: Summer 2024
Projected Hours: Up to 130 hours
Expected Student Enrollment: 100
Supervision: Dr. C. Bassim
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading Tutorials: Facilitate tutorial sessions and oversee laboratory activities.
- Preparation: Engage in preparatory work including reading materials, attending lectures, and collaborating with the course instructor.
- Student Consultation: Provide support to students through emails and designated office hours.
- Invigilation: Monitor examinations to ensure academic integrity.
- Grading: Assess student submissions and maintain accurate records of grades.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be undergraduate students enrolled in an Engineering, BSc, or BHSc program, having completed Level II.
- Proficiency in the English language is required, along with relevant teaching experience and a minimum Cumulative Average of 7.5.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in running labs and tutorials.
- This position is exclusively for applicants who do not hold an undergraduate degree.
Additional Information:
- Returning TAs must maintain a cumulative average of at least 7.5 to be eligible for rehire.
- Applicants should clearly indicate the course they are applying for in their submission.
