Job Summary

Thales is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ship Maintenance Lead to oversee the planning, execution, and closeout of Work Period activities on assigned vessels. This role requires strong leadership and coordination skills to manage internal and external teams, ensuring successful project delivery and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, and monitor projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing expert guidance on maintenance execution and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Supervise and coordinate Thales personnel and subcontractors, delegating tasks and responsibilities as needed.
  • Coordinate and conduct activities prior to maintenance execution, including subcontractor kick-off meetings and authorization of purchase requisitions.
  • Oversee maintenance execution activities, ensuring material readiness objectives are met and platforms are available for operation.
  • Provide project management support to the Coastal Ship Maintenance Team Lead, ensuring availability standards and Full Mission Capability are met.
  • Manage maintenance and ad-hoc tasking during designated work periods, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-year technical program diploma in a marine technical field or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 8 years of demonstrated technical professional work experience in project management and team leadership, preferably in the ship/dockyard and naval environments.
  • Experience with document management systems, such as DRMIS, is an asset.
Working Conditions
  • 40-hour workweek with occasional domestic or international travel required.
  • Physical environment: office or onboard naval ships, with potential for confined space entry and bending/twisting.
Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated Total Target Compensation for this role is $67,232.00 CAD Annual, inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility. Thales offers a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health, dental, and life insurance, as well as retirement savings plans and employee discounts.
