We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer II to join our team at Boston Scientific. As a key member of our manufacturing organization, you will play a critical role in facilitating efficient operations within the production area, optimizing existing processes, and ensuring that production goals are met.
As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will be responsible for monitoring the performance of equipment, machines, and tools, and correcting equipment problems or process parameters that produce non-conforming products, low yields, or product quality issues. You will also interface with Quality and Research and Development organizations to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:- Initiating and completing technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes, for current programs, next generation programs, and to meet strategic goals and objectives of the company.
- Analyzing and solving problems from basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts through to a wide range of complex and advanced problems that require novel and new innovative approaches or a major breakthrough in technology.
- Developing knowledge in a field to become a recognized leader or authority in an area of specialization and applying this knowledge in leadership roles in the company.
- Incorporating business policies and procedures into task completion, understanding the business needs of the company, and having knowledge of the customer needs of our business.
- Cultivating internal and external networks of resources to complete tasks, serving as a resource in the selection, orientation, and training of new engineers and employees, and may lead a project team, determining goals and objectives for the projects.
- Interacting cross-functionally and with internal and external customers, serving as a consultant for engineering or scientific interpretations and advice on significant matters, and acting as a spokesperson to customers on business unit current and future capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably mechanical, industrial, biomedical, or chemical engineering).
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in an engineering-related field.
- Proven understanding of manufacturing problem-solving, data analysis, and production flow tools (i.e., LEAN manufacturing).
- Experience in the medical device industry.
- Experience with validation and qualification of equipment.
- Proven ability to drive process improvement initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop and present ideas via visual communication methods.
