Job Title: Foster Care Support Worker

At WJS Canada, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Foster Care Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting foster families and children in care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to family homes and communities to conduct regular monitoring visits and provide support to foster families.
  • Collaborate with case management teams to develop and implement comprehensive transition plans for children transitioning into new homes.
  • Develop and implement competency-based training programs and coordinate professional supports for foster families.
  • Work with families to develop goal-based service plans and ensure accurate client file management.
  • Ensure compliance with CARF/COA accreditation standards and legislated requirements.
  • Connect children and families with support networks, outside agencies, and community resources.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and emergency response planning as needed.
  • Utilize standardized assessment and monitoring instruments to ensure continuity of procedures and consistency in follow-up.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in case management, working with foster families.
  • College diploma in Social Work or Human Services field.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards for monitoring Foster Homes and Child in Care programs.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certificate and Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificate (MANDT).
