Foster Care Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Foster Care Support Specialist to join our team at WJS Canada. As a key member of our child and family services team, you will play a vital role in supporting foster families and ensuring the well-being of children in care.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to family homes and communities to conduct regular monitoring visits and provide support to foster families.
- Collaborate with case management teams to develop and implement comprehensive transition plans for children transitioning from foster care to independent living.
- Develop and implement competency-based training programs and coordinate professional supports for foster families.
- Work with families to develop goal-based service plans and ensure accurate client file management.
- Ensure compliance with CARF/COA accreditation standards and legislated requirements.
- Connect children and families with community resources and support networks.
- Provide crisis intervention services and emergency response planning as needed.
- Utilize standardized assessment and monitoring instruments to ensure continuity of procedures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case management meetings and quality improvement committees.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in case management or a related field.
- College diploma in social work or a human services field.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards for monitoring foster homes and child in care programs.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certificate and Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificate (MANDT).
