We are seeking a skilled Foster Care Support Specialist to join our team at WJS Canada. In this role, you will work with foster families and children to provide support and guidance to ensure successful transitions into new homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to family homes and communities to conduct monitoring visits and provide support to foster families.
  • Work with case management teams to develop and implement comprehensive transition plans for children and youth.
  • Develop and implement competency-based training and coordinate professional supports for foster families.
  • Assist caregivers in developing emergency response plans and provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Utilize standardized assessment and monitoring instruments to ensure continuity of procedures and consistency in follow-up.
  • Review recommendations and action plans with caregivers and maintain current contact notes and program reports.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in case management, working with foster families.
  • College diploma in Social Work or Human Services field.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards for monitoring Foster Homes and Child in Care programs.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certificate and Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificate (MANDT).
