Thaledbel Recruitment & Consulting is seeking a dedicated Compensation and Benefits Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll processing for a workforce of up to 200 employees, ensuring timely and accurate entries every pay period.
  • Compile year-end audit documentation and schedules for financial audits.
  • Generate monthly reports, including pension and general ledger reports, to support financial oversight.
  • Monitor and record employee leave entitlements, including vacation and alternative time off.
  • Address payroll inquiries from staff and management regarding various leave types.
  • Handle Records of Employment and related documentation.
  • Prepare and submit government reports, including WCB, taxes, and T4 forms, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and policies.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, and pension plans, and prepare necessary reconciliations.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly reconciliations of benefit plans.
  • Ensure accurate filing and retention of payroll records and perform clerical duties as required.
  • Foster effective working relationships with colleagues, management, and external agencies.
  • Verify that department managers have approved schedules and timesheets in the payroll system.
  • Communicate effectively with the Payroll Provider.
  • Utilize Dayforce for payroll processing.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, complemented by foundational accounting knowledge.
  • Possession of a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or equivalent experience is required.
  • A Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated tact and judgment in interactions with staff and external partners.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and payroll systems.
  • Commitment to accuracy and adherence to legislative and organizational standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships.
  • Strong sense of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check.
