Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and compliant product labeling and packaging.
- Review and provide guidance on promotional and advertising materials to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage internal databases to maintain up-to-date product information for staff, customers, and website.
- Verify suppliers and products meet food safety and regulatory requirements through documentation and site assessments.
- Generate and proofread nutrition and ingredient labels for new and existing products.
- Execute substantiation and application of claims on packaging and marketing materials.
- Support regulatory-based changes that impact the business.
- Provide guidance on routine regulatory and nutritional issues.
- Organize and manage documentation according to company policies and procedures.
- Track quality metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Post-secondary degree in Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Food/Nutrition Science, or Food Engineering.
- Prior experience with HACCP, GFSI, food legislation, and Quality Assurance programs.
- Understanding of food qualities, nutritional content, interactions, and processing methods.
- Established knowledge of Canadian government regulations on ingredient, claims, and nutritional labeling.
- Knowledge of Food Formulation Software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Team player with a customer service mindset.
- Exposure to eye strain from computer terminals.
- Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
