Farm Worker Job Description

About the Job:

F. Ménard is seeking a reliable and skilled farm worker to join our team. As a farm worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of our animals and maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of our animals, including feeding, watering, and providing medication as needed.
  • Perform daily checks on farm facilities to ensure proper operation and cleanliness.
  • Assist with the care and maintenance of our swine, including detecting when sows are in season and planning mating.
  • Prepare sow barns and attend sows during birthing, and check new litters and oversee care of newborns.
  • Keep clean and in good condition the building interiors/exteriors, receive piglets and count them with transporters, and help load animals.
Requirements:
  • Passionate about animals and able to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Good at planning tasks and time, and able to travel to different facilities throughout the region.
  • Available to work on two weekends per month.
  • Ability to obtain a farm manager position and salary adjustment, and eligibility for the production bonus.
