Pig Farm Laborer

Reporting to the fattening supervisor, the hog farm worker is responsible for managing the farm to raise high-quality hogs according to established procedures and available technologies while controlling production costs effectively.

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Are in good physical condition to handle animals and perform maintenance work
  • Have general knowledge of agricultural maintenance
  • Are independent and resourceful to complete duties within specific timeframes
  • Are skilled at planning time to accomplish daily tasks
  • Are animal lovers dedicated to achieving the best possible results
  • Possess high observational skills

Key responsibilities:

  • Inspect animals, hog barns, and production materials daily to ensure proper farm facility operation
  • Feed hogs to ensure optimal growth and production outcomes
  • Order feed as needed
  • Administer medications to animals as required to maintain herd health
  • Clean, wash, and disinfect pens after animal removal
  • Receive piglets and count them with transporters
  • Compile reports on herd, equipment, and building performance
  • Assist with animal loading
  • Maintain equipment and buildings to prevent deterioration
  • Keep farm interiors, exteriors, and equipment clean and in good condition
  • Apply HACCP and OSH standards
  • Implement supervisor recommendations
  • Manage farm alarms or replace them as necessary
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor

In addition to technical knowledge, the worker must be rigorous in adhering to company-established regulations, standards, and rules.

Schedule: Permanent, full-time

Location: Montérégie, vehicle provided
