About the Role

As a Labour Relations Advisor at Transat, you will play a key role in maintaining harmonious working relationships between employees, managers, and union representatives. Your expertise will be essential in negotiating collective agreements, interpreting labour laws, and providing advisory support to first-level managers and the human resources team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a resource person for first-level managers and the human resources team on labour relations matters.
  • Provide advisory support or act as spokesperson in the negotiation of collective agreements, letters of understanding, and other negotiated agreements.
  • Offer opinions on the application of collective agreements, employment terminations, disciplinary measures, and other labour-related issues.
  • Update and maintain absenteeism files.
  • Conduct legislative research and provide recommendations.
  • Participate in and lead various labour relations committees.
  • Facilitate, structure, and participate in grievance meetings as required.
  • Advise managers on labour relations and related laws.
  • Represent the employer before administrative tribunals.
  • Prepare various files, including grievances, disciplinary meetings, arbitrations, and collective agreement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with the company's legal representatives in conciliation, mediation, and arbitration hearings, as well as Human Rights and Canada Labour Code complaints.

Requirements

  • University diploma in Labour Relations or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience as a Labour Relations Advisor or similar title.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is essential.
  • Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code is an asset.
  • Leadership and proactive skills.
  • Client-oriented and strong ability to influence others and communicate effectively.
  • Team spirit and creativity.
