Registered Midwife

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Midwife to join our team at the Government of Nunavut. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive midwifery care to childbearing women, babies, and families in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary health care services to women, babies, and families in accordance with the Health/Midwifery Act and midwifery-led maternity care program.
- Conduct routine check-ups, prenatal care, and postnatal care to ensure healthy pregnancies and safe births.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to patients.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and guidelines in midwifery care.
- Midwifery Diploma from Nunavut Arctic College or equivalent.
- Registration with the Nunavut Midwifery Registration Committee or a recognized midwifery body.
- Minimum of two years post-registration experience in midwifery care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- S.T.A.B.L.E or ACoRN course completion.
- Experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment.
- Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, and language.
