Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Eating Disorders Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team. As a key member of our team, you will provide consultation, case management, and therapy to individuals and families affected by eating disorders. You will work closely with our Program Coordinator and other healthcare professionals to assess client needs, develop treatment plans, and provide comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess clients and determine referral needs
- Provide group therapy, family therapy, and group education
- Liaise with community resources for specialized services
- Formulate and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Participate in internal and external case conferences
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver in-services and education sessions
- Maintain knowledge of mental health as it relates to eating disorders
- Assist in the orientation and training of new staff
- Participate in the development and evaluation of eating disorder programs
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or other relevant health-related discipline
- Two years' recent related experience working with eating disordered clients or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Eligible for registration with relevant professional association
- Valid B.C. Driver's License
- Demonstrated knowledge of eating disorders intervention strategies
- Demonstrated ability to undertake client assessments utilizing mental health and eating disorders standardized tools
- Ability to assess, plan, organize, implement, evaluate, and problem-solve
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, groups, and other professionals within an interdisciplinary environment
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, including working effectively in a multicultural environment
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of relevant Acts and regulations
