Job Summary The Dietitian will work collaboratively with our team to provide comprehensive nutrition assessment, care planning, and counseling to clients with eating disorders. You will develop and coordinate educational materials, present to diverse populations, and provide individual and group counseling sessions. Your expertise will be essential in monitoring and evaluating the nutritional component of our Eating Disorder Program. Responsibilities • Provide evidence-based comprehensive individual nutritional assessment and care planning for clients with eating disorders • Develop and coordinate educational materials and presentations for diverse populations • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to monitor and evaluate the nutritional component of the Eating Disorder Program • Act as a resource to regional, departmental, community resources, and educational institutions on nutrition and nutrition programming • Participate in planning and facilitating groups with clients in the FSEDP • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to exchange information on client responses or issues related to the care plan • Participate in the development of goals, objectives, standards, and procedures of the overall Nutrition Program • Provide home visits as required to assist clients in achieving nutritional goals • Maintain related reports, records, and statistical data in accordance with established standards and procedures • Participate in quality improvement activities and research by identifying care issues, collecting data, and preparing statistics • Supervise and/or support dietetic interns as required and provide nutrition education and/or support to other healthcare students Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition from an accredited university • Successful completion of a community nutrition or dietetics internship program as approved by Dietitians of Canada (DOC) • Two (2) years' recent related experience, including a focus on client-centered counseling of eating disordered clients • Registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia • Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes Skills and Abilities • Demonstrated client-centered, individual and group counseling skills, including supportive behavioral interventions applicable to eating disordered clients • Demonstrated thorough and current knowledge of eating disorders for all ages and acute cases • Demonstrated knowledge of community nutrition practices and processes • Demonstrated effective teaching and presentation skills • Demonstrated ability to proactively and effectively resolve issues impacting on quality and continuity of care • Ability to plan, implement, organize, prioritize, and problem-solve • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing • Ability to work in a high-volume/high-stress environment with strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills About Fraser Health Fraser Health is a leading healthcare provider in British Columbia, serving over 2 million people in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
