Job Summary

The Community Life Coordinator is a key member of the Tyndale University team, responsible for overseeing student programming and events. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Programming
    • Develop and implement programs and activities that promote student engagement and community development.
    • Coordinate events and programs that foster a sense of belonging among students.
    • Work with student leaders to plan and execute events and programs.
  • People Management
    • Recruit, train, and supervise student leaders and staff.
    • Provide guidance and support to student leaders and staff.
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance student leadership development.
  • Student Development
    • Contribute to the development of undergraduate student leadership training programs.
    • Collaborate with other departments to provide services and support to students.
    • Ensure regular and timely communication of student activities and events to other departments and the wider Tyndale community.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Undergraduate degree.
    • Graduate degree in Higher Education, Student Development, Counselling, or Biblical Studies/Theology (preferred).
  • Experience
    • Minimum of three years' experience in student development/higher education work.
    • Managerial experience.
    • Experience working with young adults.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to problem solve and multi-task.
    • First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
    • Mental Health First Aid certification (preferred).
    • Strong administrative skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Excel, and social media platforms.
  • Personal Characteristics
    • Professionalism and tact.
    • Strong listening skills.
    • Team oriented with ability to take initiative.
    • A keen desire to serve the Tyndale community, local church, and family and friends.
Working Conditions

The Community Life Coordinator will work in a general office environment and will be required to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Salary Range

$44,000 to $48,500
