About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled API Platform Operations Engineer to join our team at Sun Life. As a key member of our API Platform Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our API platform, including infrastructure support, design, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Support: Provide full infrastructure support for the API platform on distributed platforms, including cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Design and Implementation: Design and implement infrastructure architecture, guide and support applications on the use of the products, and participate in the development of standards and processes.
  • Operations and Support: Participate in the operations and support of the API platform, including deployment and rollout of components, and ensure the smooth operation of the platform.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the team of Operations Engineers, API Platform Engineering, and API Platform Consulting Teams to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area.
  • Experience: 3-6 years of experience in related IT areas, with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in application support and operations.
  • Skills: Experience in implementing continuous integration and delivery solutions, good understanding of DevOps, Containers/Docker, Kubernetes, and experience working with Kafka/Confluent technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with specialized API architecture frameworks, security, patterns, model, and delivery.
  • Experience with scripting languages to automate operations tasks.
  • Exposure to using Authentication and Authorization solutions with REST APIs.
  • Working knowledge of API development in AWS Serverless environment.
  • Working knowledge of deploying components on Kubernetes.
