Overview of the Position

The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate the seamless transition of innovative products from the Advanced Product Development phase to full-scale Operations. This involves adhering to the established practices of Advanced Product Quality Planning (Trax). You will spearhead the advanced manufacturing team while collaborating with various support teams to ensure a successful product launch. Your technical expertise will be crucial in designing robust manufacturing processes prior to the launch and in leading initiatives aimed at production enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure a smooth transition of new products from Advanced Product Development to Operations, starting approximately 9 months before the Start of Production (SOP) and continuing for 3 months post-SOP until launch KPIs are stable.

- Assist in part design processes, providing feasibility assessments to facilitate manufacturing efficiency and cost reduction.

- Follow the guidelines set forth in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (Trax) methodology.

- Develop and maintain essential documentation, including PFMEA, Operator Instructions, Rework procedures, Change-over instructions, Manufacturing Engineering Open Issues, and Continuous Improvement Programs.

- Track and manage new product launch milestones, KPIs, test incidents, customer rejections, and high-risk items, ensuring timely action plans are in place.

- Lead and participate in multi-disciplinary teams to address various corporate objectives related to manufacturing processes, productivity, quality, safety, and delivery commitments.

- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve any process deviations, aiming to minimize scrap and enhance operational efficiencies.

Ideal Candidate Profile

- A degree or diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or a relevant trade qualification.

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity, capable of conducting advanced analyses and prioritizing tasks effectively with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills

- Strong communication, presentation, and moderation skills.

- Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies and problem-solving techniques.

- Project management experience.

- Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with current software applications.

- Knowledge of FMEA and APQP processes.
