About the Opportunity

WSP Canada is seeking a highly experienced Dam Safety Engineer to join our team in Ontario. As a key member of our Power Division, you will contribute to the development and implementation of dam safety and engineering projects across Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to and review dam safety and engineering documents and reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
  • Act as a QA/QC reviewer for dam safety and engineering projects, including dam safety reviews, inspections, and design development.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients in Ontario to understand their needs and provide expert advice on dam safety and engineering projects.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals for dam safety and engineering projects, including water dams for utility and non-utility clients.
  • Prepare technical documents and reports related to project management and technical responsibilities.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry technical standards and guidelines, ensuring our team's expertise is current and relevant.
  • Provide oversight and mentorship to junior staff, identifying learning opportunities and promoting professional growth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 20+ years of experience in dam safety and engineering.
  • Valid license from a Canadian provincial body regulating the practice of professional engineering.
  • Currently maintain or be eligible to be licensed by Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • Initiative and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
