Job Title: Assistant Meat Department Head

At Metro Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Meat Department team as an Assistant Meat Department Head. This role is responsible for supporting the Meat Manager in ensuring the department meets its sales and customer service goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in receiving, pricing, stocking, rotating, and merchandising products to ensure optimal sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the department is ready for business at all times, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Implement and adhere to our Customer Service Policy, providing exceptional service to our customers.
  • Support the Meat Manager in directing activities pertaining to department staff, including hiring, coaching, and training.
  • Assist with overall store operations, including store opening and closing.
Requirements:
  • Meat experience with excellent product knowledge and rotation and merchandising skills.
  • Superior customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform tasks that require bending, twisting, and turning.
  • Availability to work days, evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays, as per the C.B.A.
