We are collaborating with an Agricultural Products Trading House that seeks to recruit a Specialty Crops Trader to enhance their commercial operations in Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks- Market Analysis: Perform thorough evaluations of market trends, supply and demand shifts, and price variations for specialty crops, including fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, and dried fruits within Western Canada.
- Sourcing and Procurement: Locate and procure premium specialty crops from producers, negotiating advantageous terms and ensuring prompt delivery.
- Risk Management: Formulate and execute risk management plans to safeguard against market fluctuations and unexpected challenges.
- Client Relationship Building: Develop and sustain robust relationships with producers, buyers, and industry participants to promote trust and collaboration.
- Trade Execution: Carry out trades with precision and accuracy, ensuring adherence to all pertinent regulations and documentation.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in commodity trading, particularly in specialty crops.
- A demonstrated history of successful trades and market assessments in Western Canada.
- Proficiency with industry-specific software and trading platforms.
- A strong network within the agricultural and commodity trading sectors.
- Knowledge of quality standards and grading criteria for specialty crops.
