The Field Service Technician will play a crucial role in the repair, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of RFID and Barcode systems, software, and associated peripheral devices. This position involves assessing user training requirements and providing instruction on the effective use of standard applications; making hardware and software recommendations; preparing documentation; offering user support; and performing related tasks as necessary.

Your Responsibilities Include...

· Repairing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading RFID and Barcode systems and software.
· Staging and configuring mobile computing devices, wireless network infrastructure, and data collection tools such as printers and scanners.
· Managing customer spare parts inventory and coordinating advanced exchange services utilizing customer-owned spare parts to meet service level agreements.
· Installing and directing the rewiring of cables as necessary for new setups and reconfigurations.
· Evaluating service requests, determining the extent of required service, and exercising sound judgment in proceeding with repairs or escalating extensive requests to supervisors or suppliers.
· Handling all necessary documentation and data entry tasks.
· Maintaining inventory levels and performing related duties as required.
· Providing prompt and effective troubleshooting and problem-solving support to clients via telephone, onsite visits, and email when system failures occur.
· Assessing user needs and delivering training on effective equipment usage.
· Advising staff on hardware and software acquisition decisions.
· Staying current with new equipment and software training.
· Building and nurturing relationships with clients to ensure optimal support.
· Collaborating with sales personnel to assist them in meeting customer needs.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with OEM SE and technical staff.
  • Working alongside fellow technicians to enhance knowledge of various equipment types.
  • Collaborating with the programming team to understand software and hardware integration.
  • Managing inventory room operations in conjunction with the inventory controller.
  • Overseeing safety and environmental compliance initiatives.

Your Qualifications Include...

  • A college diploma, preferably in Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in general computer installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required; experience with a CRM is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, including excellent writing abilities.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Capability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • A valid driver's license.
