We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to join our Ceremonies and Events team at Simon Fraser University. As an Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing university events and ceremonies, both on and off campus.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual equipment, and decorations.
- Liaise with various stakeholders, including vendors, service providers, and university departments, to ensure seamless event execution.
- Coordinate event registrations, payments, and communications with attendees.
- Develop and maintain event databases and records using Blackbaud CRM.
- Provide administrative support to the Director, Senior Associate Director, and Associate Director.
- High school graduation and two years of post-secondary education or formal program equivalent, including courses or formal training in event planning, word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in event planning or a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to use database, word processing, and spreadsheet applications at an intermediate level.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
