About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Qualicum Quality Care Services Ltd. as a Geriatrics Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents in a long-term care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of residents' physical and emotional needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Medication Management: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, monitor residents' responses to medications, and report any adverse reactions or concerns.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with the healthcare team, residents, and families to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and mentor licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff to ensure high-quality care and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of residents' care, including progress notes, medication administration records, and incident reports.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a long-term care setting
  • Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certifications, licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities
