We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Qualicum Quality Care Services Ltd. as a Geriatrics Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents in a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of residents' physical and emotional needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Medication Management: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, monitor residents' responses to medications, and report any adverse reactions or concerns.
- Wound Care and Management: Identify and manage wounds, pressure ulcers, and other skin conditions, and develop and implement wound care plans to promote healing and prevent further complications.
- Staff Supervision and Education: Supervise and mentor licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff, provide education and training on best practices, and promote a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address complex care needs.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a long-term care setting
- Certifications: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities
