As a key member of the Claims team at Definity Financial Corporation, the Senior Claims Specialist will oversee a diverse portfolio of intricate claims, particularly focusing on significant Commercial General Liability (CGL) claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  2. Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective claim management, including underwriting, reinsurance, actuarial teams, and executive leadership.
  3. Support quality assurance initiatives by auditing the performance of Claims personnel, vendors, and brokers.
  4. Act as a representative for Definity in legal proceedings, mediation sessions, and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  5. Facilitate training sessions and offer technical assistance to colleagues.
  6. Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
  7. Thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
  8. Continuously seek to enhance your adjusting expertise and personal development.
  9. Exhibit teamwork and adaptability in a dynamic workplace.
  10. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  11. Possess the capability to work autonomously.

Qualifications:

  1. A university degree in any field or a two-year diploma from a recognized community college, or a completed CIP designation.
  2. Bilingual proficiency in English and French is advantageous.
  3. A minimum of several years of experience in general claims management.
  4. At least four years of experience in handling large CGL and/or bodily injury claims, with a background in mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
  5. Experience in coaching and developing junior staff members.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  7. Strong communication capabilities.
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office and possess robust computer skills.

Compensation: Salary range: $66,300 - $122,100
