Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Shop Manager to oversee maintenance operations in our facilities. This role is crucial in managing the performance and efficiency of our maintenance team while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and schedule fleet maintenance activities, assisting in diagnosing equipment issues.
  • Manage staff responsibilities including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Collaborate with location management to provide updates on maintenance status and budgetary needs.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory and company standards for safety and maintenance operations.
  • Review and approve repair orders, manage parts inventory, and coordinate subcontracted repairs as necessary.
  • Implement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel are well-trained, equipped, and motivated to perform their duties effectively.
  • Supervise fuel management and maintenance of facility grounds.
  • Engage in special projects and hands-on maintenance tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is preferred.
  • Valid CDL Operator's license with necessary endorsements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in mechanical maintenance.
  • Ability to lift weights ranging from 20 to 50 lbs.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in computer applications relevant to maintenance operations.
  • Experience with diesel engine repair and maintenance of school bus equipment is advantageous.
