Job Title: Retail Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Pharmacist to join our team at Hamilton Drugs Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and service in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment. This includes ordering and maintaining stock of pharmaceutical supplies, advising customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication, and checking prescriptions for proper dosage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies
  • Advise customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication
  • Check prescriptions for proper dosage
  • Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients
  • Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs
  • Manage the storage, packaging and distribution of medicinal products
  • Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians and other staff
Requirements:
  • Certification for drug administration by injection and intranasal route
  • Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Basic security clearance
  • Criminal record check
  • Eligible for professional liability insurance
  • Valid driver's licence
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and repetitive tasks. The ability to distinguish between colours, attention to detail, and work under pressure are essential skills for this role.
