About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Pharmacist to join our team at Hamilton Drugs Ltd. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order and Maintain Stock: Ensure that our pharmacy is well-stocked with pharmaceutical supplies, including medications, equipment, and other essential items.
  • Customer Service: Provide expert advice to customers on the selection and use of non-prescription medications, and ensure that they are aware of any potential interactions or side effects.
  • Prescription Management: Verify the accuracy of prescriptions, check for proper dosage, and ensure that medications are dispensed correctly.
  • Compounding: Prepare and compound prescribed pharmaceutical products, using your expertise to calculate, measure, and mix the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients.
  • Medication Profiles: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication profiles for our customers, including records of poisons, narcotics, and controlled substances.
  • Storage and Distribution: Ensure that medications are stored and distributed safely and efficiently, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and technicians, providing guidance and support as needed.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Hold current certification for drug administration by injection and intranasal route, as well as Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification.
  • Licenses: Be licensed by provincial or territorial authorities to practice as a pharmacist.
  • Security Clearance: Possess a basic security clearance and be eligible for professional liability insurance.
  • Transportation: Hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel as required.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Be able to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel as required, and possess manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be able to work under pressure.
