Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary R&D team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex hardware platforms, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful launch of our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex hardware platforms, including circuit boards, PCB layouts, and manufacturing packages.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to develop new product designs, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and performance.
- Work with manufacturers to build prototypes and production units, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Develop and maintain accurate documentation throughout the development and validation phases.
- Test and validate prototypes to characterize their performances, including electric, acoustic, and temperature testing.
- Lead and participate in design reviews, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
- Work with external laboratories for EMC/EMI testing and safety certification, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Train and mentor electronics and prototyping technicians, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to support our product development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6+ years of experience designing circuit boards, with a focus on complex, high-density, multi-layer PCBs.
- Strong debugging skills, with experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design ideas and solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management skills and the ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Analog and/or audio circuit design and troubleshooting experience.
- Integration of radio-frequency components experience.
- Experience in the design of complex products that have been commercialized.
- EMC/EMI testing and troubleshooting experience.
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Depending on the daily tasks to be performed, working from home may be possible. However, as we often need laboratory equipment and great collaboration between the R&D teams is essential, the hardware designer must be able to come to the office with short notice if necessary.
