Job Summary
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a highly skilled Research Analyst to join our team in the laboratory of behavioral neuroendocrinology. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting preclinical work, including behavioral testing, drug administration, and sample collection and processing. You will also be involved in basic wet lab research, working with a large scientific team to achieve our research goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct behavioral assays, such as elevated plus maze, touchscreen assays, and forced swim test, in both mice and rats.
- Work with chronic stress paradigms in both sexes and perform molecular assays, including immunohistochemistry and electrochemiluminescence.
- Contribute to lab maintenance, including protocol development, manuscript preparation, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with lab members and the preclinical facility to achieve research goals.
- Participate in general lab duties, including animal husbandry and colony management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Pharmacology, Biology, or a related field, combined with one year of relevant research experience.
- Experience performing rodent behavioral experiments, including vaginal lavages, and wet lab techniques, such as immunohistochemistry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical software, such as STATISTICA, for basic statistical analysis.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic clinical/research team environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
