Role Summary:

The Cancer Genomics Program (CGP) at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is focused on enhancing personalized cancer treatment through the exploration of genetic mutations and molecular mechanisms associated with cancer. The program's clinical research initiatives include the Princess Margaret Cancer Consortium (PM2C), which collaborates with leading cancer research institutions across Canada to share critical data and drive innovative discoveries aimed at improving patient outcomes. As the CGP expands, there is a requirement for a new Research Analyst I.

Under the guidance of the CGP Senior Program Manager and PM2C leadership, the Research Analyst I will be integral in coordinating various research projects and activities. Key responsibilities encompass:

  • Managing and monitoring a diverse range of complex research studies across multiple institutions.
  • Preparing and submitting Research Ethics Board applications, including initial submissions and amendments, while creating and reviewing necessary study documentation.
  • Extracting clinical data from medical records and other relevant documents into electronic case report forms (eCRFs), ensuring compliance with study protocols and institutional guidelines.
  • Facilitating team meetings and contributing to the optimization of workflows.
  • Summarizing research data and activities for presentations, reports, and team meetings.
  • Performing administrative duties such as organizing meetings, documenting minutes, and securing necessary approvals.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a Health or Science-related field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in oncology, clinical trials, medical terminology, or regulatory matters involving human subjects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and learn quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high-quality work standards.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and UHN policies.
  • Consistent attendance record.
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Professional is an asset.
  • Experience with REDCap database is advantageous.
