Position Overview

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering EIT to join our dynamic team.

This role is designed for entry to intermediate professionals who possess a foundational understanding of civil engineering principles, design, and construction practices. The ideal candidate will have some practical experience through internships or related work in the field. Team collaboration and effective communication with colleagues and clients are essential. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate initiative, motivation, and a strong desire to contribute positively to project outcomes. The selected candidate will play a vital role in delivering linear conveyance infrastructure projects, primarily focusing on municipal stormwater, water, and wastewater systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design civil systems for municipal water and wastewater/drainage facilities.
  • Draft technical reports and memorandums.
  • Conduct construction inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare documentation related to design projects and reports.
  • Assist in developing construction cost estimates.
  • Support the creation of project specifications and contract documents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Possession of a valid BC Class V Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for registration as an EIT with EGBC.
  • Experience in civil engineering, hydraulic modeling, planning, and construction inspection.
  • Familiarity with contract documentation, including MMCD and CCDC.
  • Knowledge of municipal water/wastewater/drainage infrastructure.
  • Understanding of blue and green infrastructure such as ponds, wetlands, bioswales, and rain gardens.
  • Strong writing skills for technical documentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment.
