Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Faculty member to join our team at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing curriculum in municipal engineering, as well as contributing to the growth and development of our civil engineering program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and develop curriculum in municipal engineering, including courses related to civil engineering and construction management
  • Contribute to the growth and development of our civil engineering program, including program improvement and administration
  • Participate in departmental and institutional activities, including outreach and accreditation
  • Develop and deliver quality curriculum to all levels, including undergraduate and graduate students
  • Participate in continuous program improvement and administration, including industry engagement and community outreach
Qualifications
  • Current Professional Engineer registration in Canada or the U.S.A.
  • Graduate degree in civil engineering
  • Minimum four years of applicable design or construction experience related to civil/municipal engineering in North America
  • Industry experience and knowledge in municipal engineering
  • Industry experience in construction management, project management, and/or geotechnical engineering would be an asset
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary engineering projects
  • Strong working knowledge of Civil3D and other industry standard software for municipal engineering
  • Experience using geospatial data analytics software in engineering projects would be an asset
  • Experience working on projects addressing impact, regulatory, and climate change issues
  • Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Teaching experience
  • Experience in training, developing or mentoring technologists or junior engineers
