About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Critical Infrastructure team as a Junior Municipal Civil Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be involved in various municipal infrastructure projects from conception to completion. You will have the chance to learn and develop your skills while working on engaging municipal projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team to develop engineering products that meet quality requirements, while meeting budgetary and timeline constraints.
  • Prepare designs of civil systems associated with municipal roads, water, sanitary, and storm systems, drainage and grading.
  • Perform construction site inspections and prepare correspondent reports.
  • Prepare proposals including work plans, cost estimates, and schedules using MS Project.

Requirements:

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Engineer in Training (EIT) with EGBC. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience including AutoCAD Civil 3D work experience in a civil engineering design role in design of civil systems associated with municipal roads, water, sanitary, and storm systems, drainage and grading.
  • Experience in civil engineering, hydraulic modelling, planning, and design, construction inspection.
  • Working knowledge of preparing contract documentation using MMCD and CCDC.
  • Working knowledge of water / wastewater / conveyance infrastructure in a municipal environment.
  • Excellent writing skills for preparation of memorandums, technical reports and proposals.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to exercise diplomacy and tact.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, subconsultants, contractors and clients.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and skills improvement, and eagerness to grow within your role.
  • Valid BC Class V Driver's License.
