Position Summary

As an IT Infrastructure Specialist at CAT Inc., you will report directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager. Your primary focus will be on enhancing, securing, and maintaining our IT systems, which are crucial for the seamless operation of our various business units.

Join our innovative team at CAT Inc., where you will play a vital role in supporting our affiliates across North America, ensuring that our IT operations are both robust and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage IT systems, including servers, networking devices, and software applications.
  • Configure and maintain network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls) to ensure optimal security and performance.
  • Provide advanced technical support, addressing complex issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to implement IT projects and upgrade infrastructure.
  • Ensure adherence to cybersecurity policies and industry standards.
  • Contribute to system architecture design and the planning and implementation of new technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Relevant certifications are advantageous.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure roles with practical experience in network configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in managing network equipment, including switches and firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco, MikroTik), with a strong understanding of IP, WAN, LAN, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with Windows Server environments (2008 – 2022), Azure cloud services, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • At least 2 years of experience in Microsoft Azure and MS 365 administration and deployment.
  • Familiarity with SAN, NAS, Azure storage, and Veeam backup systems.
  • Knowledge of implementing and managing cybersecurity measures and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of navigating complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, emphasizing customer service and teamwork.
