Job Responsibilities

As a Personal Support Worker, you'll provide care to individuals who require assistance with daily activities due to aging, injury, surgery, or illness. This role involves:

  • Assisting clients with personal care, such as bathing and dressing
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Taking clients for outings or exercise to promote physical and mental well-being
  • Preparing basic meals and performing light housekeeping duties
  • Providing respite care while the primary caregiver is away
  • Reminding clients about their medication and appointments
  • Assisting clients with mobility and transferring them safely
  • Participating in the client's total care program and acting upon delegated tasks within your scope of practice
Requirements
  • Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a recognized program
  • Valid G2/G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach, with the ability to lift 50lbs independently
  • Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certification
  • Updated immunization records, including a two-step tuberculosis test within the last 6 months
  • Clear criminal background check and Vulnerable Sector check
  • Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful, and courteous manner
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
