Position Overview

John Abbott College is seeking qualified candidates for anticipated openings in the Evening AEC Finance Program. The program aims to deliver comprehensive finance education through credit courses.

Contract Type: Charge de Cours (per lesson basis)
Course: AB
Title: Computerized Accounting - AEC Finance LCA.84
Hours: 60
Sections: One (1)

Note: Contracts are subject to sufficient student enrollment. The starting date and location for each course will be determined by the institution.

Important Information: Courses will be conducted online.

Qualifications Required

Business Administration (410) AEC

Educational Background:
A Master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration (MBA) OR a Master's level degree in a related discipline OR a Bachelor's degree with a CPA/CA designation and current membership in good standing with CPA Canada (Chartered Professional Accountants).

Professional Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in business and industry.
• Several years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English are essential. Bilingual candidates (English/French) are preferred.
• Bilingualism and the ability to teach in French are advantageous, especially in light of recent legislative changes regarding language instruction.

Additional Criteria for Specific Courses:
• AB/AB Membership in the Sage Accounting network and relevant industry experience.

Note: In accordance with the Collective Agreement, the Selection Committee may consider additional professional or industrial experience in lieu of the stated minimum educational requirements. Candidates considered under this provision must have completed at least the equivalent of a DEC or AEC. Higher education may substitute for professional experience at the discretion of the Selection Committee.
