Position Overview

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in cultivating a culture that prioritizes data-driven insights. This position requires a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Business Data Science Analytics (BDSA) team. Your primary responsibilities will include the analysis of intricate datasets, the development of statistical models, and the provision of actionable insights that facilitate informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine extensive and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that enhance business performance and strategic decision-making.
  • Create predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical frameworks to address intricate business challenges.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to comprehend business needs and formulate data-driven solutions.
  • Design and implement experiments to validate hypotheses and assess models.
  • Utilize advanced statistical methodologies and data mining techniques to derive actionable insights from both structured and unstructured data.
  • Establish and maintain scalable data pipelines and processing systems.
  • Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including non-technical audiences, through visualizations, reports, and presentations.
  • Stay abreast of developments in data science, machine learning, and analytics.
  • Maintain a strong focus on delivery and Agile methodologies, overseeing projects from inception to execution.
  • Work alongside the Enterprise Analytics team to integrate innovative practices and technologies.
  • Act as the primary resource for inquiries related to Business Data Science at McKesson.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of practical experience in developing and implementing advanced analytics solutions in corporate or consulting environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline; a Master's or PhD is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success as a Data Scientist, delivering data-driven solutions to complex business issues.
  • Proven expertise in building and deploying AI/Machine Learning solutions at scale.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R, with experience in data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
  • Familiarity with various applied analytical techniques, including clustering, regression analysis, time series analysis, NLP, neural networks, KNN, association rules, decision trees, and logistic regression.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Databricks, Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is advantageous.
  • Proficient in SQL and experienced with relational databases (Snowflake, Oracle), data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau), and Excel modeling and VBA.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a capacity to approach challenges from multiple perspectives.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical distribution sector is a significant asset.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required.
  • The role necessitates providing daily support to internal and/or external clients, thus proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.
Compensation Range

$82,400 - $137,400
