Key Responsibilities:

  1. Formulate pricing strategies tailored to market demands and product offerings to achieve growth and profitability targets.
  2. Oversee analytical work conducted by team members to establish comprehensive pricing strategies based on actual claims data and competitive analysis.
  3. Generate innovative strategies aimed at accelerating profitable growth and oversee their execution.
  4. Optimize cession strategies to Risk Sharing Pools.
  5. Develop pricing strategies that confer a competitive edge.
  6. Enhance customer segmentation initiatives to meet objectives while considering competitive and regulatory factors.
  7. Identify customer segments with above-average profitability for targeted marketing efforts.
  8. Create models for assessing and measuring customer price sensitivity and behavior.
  9. Assist in securing necessary approvals from regulatory bodies.
  10. Prepare documentation for rate changes in accordance with established standards required by rating boards.
  11. Address inquiries from regulators during the review process.
  12. Support negotiations with regulatory authorities to secure rate change approvals.
  13. Implement and maintain best practices and controls to mitigate risks, while updating existing processes, policies, and procedures.
  14. Facilitate the implementation of approved rate changes.
  15. Ensure measures are in place to verify the accurate pricing of all issued policies, addressing compliance and reputational risks.
  16. Provide guidance and oversight to analysts within the team.
  17. Establish and nurture relationships with partners and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  18. Assist business partners with pricing-related inquiries.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of five years of actuarial experience in Property & Casualty.
  2. A Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Sciences or a related discipline.
  3. Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designation obtained or in progress.
  4. Strong proficiency in Excel.
  5. Interest and proficiency in programming, particularly in SQL and R.
  6. Experience in predictive modeling is highly advantageous.
  7. Demonstrated leadership skills and a strong capacity for teamwork.
  8. A commitment to developing and empowering top talent.
  9. Customer-focused mindset.
  10. Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal; proficiency in French is a plus.
  11. Ability to perform effectively during high-pressure situations and make tough decisions.
