In the role of Silviculture Field Support Specialist, you will be instrumental in the strategic planning and execution of our Silviculture initiatives. This encompasses tasks such as post-harvest evaluations, site preparation, silviculture assessments, and other engaging responsibilities. Your commitment to enhancing processes will allow you to leverage your extensive experience to implement cost-effective solutions and actively participate in the deployment of Canfor's Operating System.

Ideally, you are pursuing an associated university degree or technical diploma, and are working towards RFT, FIT, or RPF Certification with the Association of BC Forestry Professionals. You possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, are proficient in a Microsoft Office environment, and have familiarity with various forest industry software applications.

Your responsibilities as a Silviculture Field Support Specialist will include:

  • Overseeing and executing Silviculture program activities, including post-harvest evaluations, site preparation, seed collection, reforestation, silviculture assessments, brushing, weeding, and burning, while adhering to relevant reporting standards.
  • Monitoring, reporting, and analyzing safety, quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
  • Supporting Canfor in maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, the public, and government entities.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and Canfor's Safety Policy, SAFE Company certification, Environmental Policy, and Forest Management System in all silviculture activities.
  • Encouraging and contributing to a positive environment for personal, professional, and team growth.

This is a contract position with the potential for extension.

The salary range for this position is: $47,000.00-$58,500.00
