In the capacity of a Silviculture Program Assistant, your responsibilities will encompass the planning and execution of various Silviculture initiatives. This may involve conducting post-harvest evaluations, preparing sites, performing silviculture assessments, and engaging in other dynamic tasks. Your commitment to continuous improvement will enable you to leverage your extensive experience to implement cost-effective strategies and actively participate in the deployment of Canfor's operational methodologies.
Ideally, you are pursuing a relevant university degree or technical diploma. You may also be working towards RFT, FIT, or RPF Certification with the Association of BC Forestry Professionals. Your strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with forestry industry software applications will serve you well in this position.
Key Responsibilities of a Silviculture Program Assistant:
Execute and oversee Silviculture program activities, including post-harvest evaluations, site preparation, seed collection, reforestation efforts, silviculture assessments, and adherence to reporting obligations. Monitor, report, and analyze safety, quality, cost, and delivery metrics. Foster positive relationships with various stakeholders, the public, and governmental bodies. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, as well as Canfor's Safety Policy, SAFE Company certification, Environmental Policy, and Forest Management System. Cultivate a supportive environment for personal, professional, and team growth.This position is contractual with potential for extension.

The compensation range for this role is: $47, $58.
