Senior Geotechnical Engineering Lead

Join Our Team: WSP Canada is on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to enhance our Ground Engineering and Materials Team. This role is pivotal in managing and executing significant projects across various regions. We offer support for relocation and accommodation for candidates considering a move.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively with engineering teams on geotechnical consulting initiatives;
- Disseminate technical expertise across regions to promote innovative solutions;
- Lead the development of geotechnical studies and engineering documentation, offering insights on diverse geotechnical components of projects;
- Provide specialized geotechnical engineering support for multi-disciplinary projects, including infrastructure like highways, bridges, and buildings;
- Oversee and direct projects that necessitate geotechnical investigation programs, prepare tender documents, solicit and assess bids, and assist project engineers;
- Identify and analyze geotechnical challenges such as settlement issues, liquefaction risks, and slope stability;
- Support field operations through the supervision of borehole drilling, in situ testing, and other construction activities;
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required within the team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A degree in Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized institution;
- Eligibility for registration as a professional geotechnical engineer;
- A minimum of ten years of pertinent experience in geotechnical or geomechanics engineering;
- Proficiency in standard geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, Ensoft, or Rocscience;
- A proactive approach and self-motivation;
- A proven history of managing projects effectively, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion;
- Capability to critically evaluate geotechnical analysis outputs.
