Server Support Technician

As a vital member of Intega IT's Service Delivery team, the Server Support Technician plays a crucial role in the upkeep and support of Microsoft Windows server infrastructure and SharePoint within client environments. This position primarily focuses on server support, but may also involve assisting with network troubleshooting when necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, and a commitment to enhancing team effectiveness through a blend of customer service, technical expertise, and adherence to ITIL processes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide end-user support by collaborating with clients to resolve their IT challenges.
- Respond to tickets promptly and with sensitivity, demonstrating empathy and clarity in communication, especially during high-pressure situations.
- Ensure quality and efficiency by delivering professional verbal and written communication to clients, while keeping ticket statuses updated for team awareness.
- Handle escalations from Level 1 help desk technicians for more complex issues.
- Collaborate with Team Leads and Level One personnel to identify training opportunities.
- Maintain client information security by following established processes and procedures.
- Serve as a strong technical resource with a proven track record of intermediate to advanced technical knowledge, particularly in troubleshooting server-based software issues, including:
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Microsoft SharePoint
- Microsoft Azure and Azure Active Directory
- Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server
- Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware
- Major antivirus/security solutions
- Utilize your knowledge of various server and workstation peripherals to assist others in your areas of expertise.
- Employ your understanding of workstation/server hardware and software troubleshooting, DNS, internet connectivity, and email flow.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- 5 years of hands-on experience in server troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows Server environments (both on-premise and cloud), SharePoint, and Hyper-V/VMware.
- Experience in systems architecture, engineering, and administration.
- Familiarity with maintaining and supporting Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong relationship management and performance oversight skills.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Skill in presenting ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly manner.
- Highly self-motivated and proactive.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative work style.
- Professional IT certifications such as Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA.
- Certifications in SonicWall CSSA, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP.
- Training and/or certifications in customer service, bilingualism (French and English).
- Experience with service tools like Autotask PSA, RMM, and business continuity solutions.
- Experience in implementing server and/or network solutions.
- Experience in SharePoint design, implementation, and maintenance.
