Social Inclusion Advocate

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Social Worker to join our team at the City of Calgary. As a Community Social Worker, you will play a key role in building strong relationships with residents and community partners to identify needs, develop capacity, and create action plans to promote social inclusion and participation.
Key Responsibilities- Community Engagement: Engage with a wide range of residents and community partners to maximize citizen access and involvement in community issues.
- Needs Assessment: Assess community needs, strengths, and capabilities to inform community-based plans.
- Community Development: Develop and implement community-based plans to promote increased inclusion and participation.
- Representation: Represent communities and bring forward relevant information to inform City decision-making.
- A degree in Social Work and at least 2 years of practical community development experience in a neighborhood and/or international setting.
- Current registration or eligibility to be registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
- Experience in community mobilization, community assessments, facilitation of neighborhood-based engagement, and communication with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in teamwork, assessment, engagement, community development, innovation, and conflict resolution.
